Good News Sunday Shopping Banned in Croatia

What fantastic news! No Sunday shopping, and it took the catholic church to pressure government to see this happen. Sadly it had to be the government in Croatia that banned Sunday shopping. Why is it that our government officials want Sunday shopping?

Why is it that our government officials want to give the box stores what they want, when they want it? Someone has to show some responsibility to those who can not look out for themselves. Nothing can be done without government legislation. So many people think that government laws infringe on freedom of rights..but it infringes on those who don't want to work on Sunday. Laws that are imposed by the Croatia government protect retail workers and management that wouldn't have a choice if wide open Sunday shopping is allowed. Have you ever heard of the comment that you can not "legislate common sense"? We have litter laws in our country and there are laws with fines that punish people for littering. With out a litter law, one has to wonder how many people would use common sense and not litter? Just like retail stores, how many of them would use common sense and close down on Sunday? The evidence is right in front of all of us to see. Retail stores won't close down on Sunday or any other day unless they are legislated to do so. Hats off to Croatia, it's about time someone leads the way. Families should be a top priority! Our environment should be another top priority. Let encourage other countries to follow suit. We will be better for it.
